Lord, I Pray My Husband Will Live A Life Worthy Of You

Welcome back to Week 3 of Wife Army ‘15! There is no formal blog today, but I wanted to give you an Action Point, our week's Prayer Point, a quote and a Scripture Prayer for your husband’s heart.

“Your husband needs to know the reason he exists. He needs to be sure his life is not just an accident, but that he’s here by design. He must be certain he was created for a great purpose. When he discovers that purpose, and is doing what he was created to do, becoming what he was created to be, he will find fulfillment. This can only contribute to your happiness as well.“ - Stormie Omartian, The Power of a Praying Wife

Action Point: Write Colossians 1:9-10 on a dry erase board or note card, and put it in a place where you will see it often. Meditate on it and pray it next time you need to believe bigger things for your marriage.

Prayer Point 3: Your husband is not the enemy. Don’t fight him. Pray for him!

Scripture Prayer

God, I thank you for my husband today. He is your workmanship. You created him in Christ Jesus for good works which you prepared for him before time began. Thank you for giving his life purpose. I pray that you would fill him with the knowledge of your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And I pray this in order that he would live a life worthy of you and may please you in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to your glorious might so that he may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to you, who has qualified him to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

Urge him, Lord, to offer his body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to you. Give him strength to not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of his mind. Then he will be able to test and approve what your will is – your good, pleasing and perfect will.

Father God, give (husband’s name) the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that he may know you better. Thank you for how much you love him. Remind him that nothing in all creation can separate him from your love. You’re a good, good father. Amen.

Colossians 1:9-12; Romans 8:37-39; 12: 1-2; Ephesians 1:17
