MAMA MONDAY: Are You Weary?

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Do you ever become weary in doing good? 

- changing diapers

- cleaning up messes

- running kids to activities

- breaking up sibling fights

- doing laundry, grocery shopping, and preparing meals

These tasks and many others feel ordinary, insignificant, and unimpressive. But our verse for today says that if you persevere, you will reap a harvest if you don’t give up.

Did you ever notice that the harvest looks nothing like the seeds that were planted? Seeds look ordinary, insignificant and unimpressive. But a harvest is breath-taking and satisfying to the soul.

As moms, God has called us to plant many ordinary seeds. But those ordinary seeds hold extraordinary potential when placed in God’s hands. It’s good for us to remember that God is in charge of the harvest.

When we are faithful in the ordinary tasks of motherhood and water the seeds with prayer and love, we can rest in the knowledge that our God is more than faithful to bring an extraordinary harvest.
